"Thirteen Years Behind the Desk: Hotel Work Experience and Lessons Learned"




"The revolving doors of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu closed behind me nearly two years ago, yet the echoes of those thirteen years still resonate. From the bustling lobby to the quiet hum of event setups, my time there shaped me in ways I never imagined.

I began my journey at Jpark as a receptionist, where I was responsible for greeting guests, directing them to the restaurant, and providing information about the local area. Later, I transitioned to an administrative assistant role, handling office transactions such as scheduling meetings, addressing staff concerns, and managing other administrative tasks.

After several years, I was promoted to event supervisor. In this role, I oversaw hotel events, closely coordinating with all departments involved in the planning, execution, and completion of each event.

During my thirteen years at Jpark, I gained invaluable experience in customer service. I learned how to navigate challenging situations, resolve guest complaints effectively, and deliver exceptional service. I also developed strong teamwork and leadership skills. I am deeply grateful for my time at the resort, the knowledge I acquired within the hospitality industry, and the lasting friendships I forged. I look forward to what the future holds.
